1. Coherent Optics and WDM Technology: Greek backbones rely heavily on Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) to scale fiber capacity without laying new cables. 100G and 200G coherent transceivers are critical to extending the reach of regional and municipal rings.
2. Single-Fiber BiDi Deployment: In remote island chains and historic towns where laying new conduits is expensive or restricted, Bidirectional (BiDi) transceivers (using distinct wavelengths like 1310nm/1490nm or 1310nm/1550nm on a single fiber) allow network operators to double link capacity over existing infrastructure.
3. Industrial Temperature Profile (I-Temp): Out-of-door cabinets across mainland Greece and island installations experience intense heat and seasonal fluctuations.
